Due to the instructions of H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, the president of the U. A. E to make 2008 the year of the national identity and to promote the goals and vision of Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in keeping the history and heritage of the U. A. E, the center is participating in the activities of Dubai Summer Surprises which are organized by the Economic Development Department with a distinctive fair about the Emirates containing historical pictures and documents, starting from 19/6/2008 until the end of the fair’s activities at Mudhesh Fun City-Dubai Airport.

The fair is containing more than 50 pictures about the U.A.E, the late H. H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al Nahyan and H. H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al Maktoom, stating a very important period in the history of the federation of the U. A. E. and the political relations with the Arab and western countries. The fair is also containing a group of figures pictures of poets, educators and scholars who enriched the scientific and cultural life of the U. A. E, in addition to the historical documents indicating the main important correspondences between the educators and rulers and the internal and external correspondences.

The fair is displaying a group of drawings and pictures showing the culture and the history of the Emirates such as the popular games in the past, the pearl diving, the customs, traditions in the ceremonies and anniversaries.

On the first days, the fair witnessed a huge attendance from the local and expatriate adults and kids. l the pictures were translated to English language to give the chance for the non-Arab community to know the history and heritage of the U. A. E.
