Juma Al Majid Center participates in the indexing workshop for Arabic manuscripts

The Omani Association for Libraries and Information in Muscat, in cooperation with the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, organized on Sunday 30 of August, a remote workshop entitled (Indexing Arabic Manuscript: Cataloging Culture and Work Tools), on Zoom application. The workshop was presented by Ms. Sheikha Al-Mutairi, Head of the Department National culture at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, and MR. Fahd Al Saadi, from the Sultanate of Oman, was attended by a number of people interested in the field of manuscripts.

In her paper entitled (Tools of the Indexer of Arab Manuscripts), Sheikha Al-Mutairi addressed a number of axes, and began with an introduction about the importance of cataloging manuscripts, indexing levels, and how indexing helps the knowledge community to enumerate Arabic manuscripts in the world and to understand the sciences and knowledge in which the early scholars composed and find what is thought to be Missing manuscripts, in addition to the most important point, which is to assist researchers and investigators in accessing manuscripts that aid them in their studies
