Juma Al Majid visits Spain to expand cultural cooperation

Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage, visited Spain to highlight the cultural activity of the centre and expand the scope of cooperation with global cultural institutions.

He was accompanied by Dr Bassam Daghistani, head of maintenance, treatment and restoration of the manuscript section at the centre, according to the news agency WAM.

Al Majid began his tour with a visit to the ancient Andalusian city of Granada, which is home to many treasures of Arabic and Islamic Manuscripts.

then visited the Andalusian Heritage Foundation where he was briefed on its role in identifying the Andalusian heritage.

The centre\\\'s role in manuscript and book restoration works was also discussed, as well as its message based on Al Majid\\\'s philosophy to save and preserve books and manuscripts regardless of the author or religion.

Al Majid also visited the Sacromonte centre and viewed some of the contents of its library of its eastern and western manuscripts, and visited its church, which is one of the most important churches in the world as it contains the lead books that were discovered in the caves of Sacromonte, a hillside outside the old city of Granada between 1595 and 1606.
