Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai organized a virtual lecture entitled “Open Source Digital Repository Systems in University Libraries: The Dspace System as a Model”, presented by Dr. Ahsan Baburi, library specialist at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, and attended by a group of librarians. and information.
The lecture dealt with the most prominent open source digital repositories systems used in academic institutions, with a focus on the DSpace system, where the lecturer touched on the use of the DSpace system as a system for managing digital repositories, managing research data, managing digital collections, as well as managing educational entities, in addition to the requirements for operating the system. In terms of equipment and software, to conclude the lecture on how to configure, prepare and customize the system to serve the requirements of the institution.
