Juma Al-Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, in cooperation with the Knights of the Arabic Language Club at the International University in Beirut, organized a remote training seminar entitled “The Art of Andalusian Muwashahat”, presented by Professor Dr. Arabic Language and Literature at the International University in Beirut.
The training session included several axes, divided into two aspects: the theoretical side, in which Dr. Wafi spoke about explaining the genres of poetry among the Arabs in terms of rhyme, the emergence of the art of muwashshahs, the most famous scarves, and the most prominent literary and artistic characteristics of muwashshahs: in terms of form, content, and language, and an explanation of the definition of muwashshah and tawsheeh, His most famous titles, the literary purposes of the stanzas, the importance of the stanzas and their impact on Arabic poetry and international poetry. It should be noted that the art of Andalusian muwashshahat represents a major turning point in the history of Arabic poetry and the phenomenon of popular literature, and a prominent station of influence on world poetry in general with testimony, and it paved the way for the development of the concept of poetic musical rhythm among the poets of southern France (Trovadores) and the poets of Spain, Italy and then Britain, and this is testimony.
