Delegation from Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Visits Juma Al Majid Center

A delegation from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library visited the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The visit aimed to explore avenues for collaboration, particularly regarding the Library’s project to enhance the content of its “Emirati Library” section by gathering data on Emirati authors and cataloging their works and publications.
The project seeks to create a comprehensive reference that brings together the collective output of Emirati authors in a single location, making it easily accessible to researchers and readers, while also helping to preserve the legacy of Emirati writing for future generations.
The delegation included Mr. Ali Al Tamimi, Director of the Libraries Department, along with several department staff members. They were welcomed by Ms. Shaikha Al Mutairi, Head of the National Culture and Public Relations Department, and Mr. Anwar Al Dhaheri, Head of the Public Relations Section at the Center.
During the meeting, the project’s objectives and potential areas of cooperation were discussed. Ms. Al Mutairi expressed the Center’s readiness to contribute through its National Culture Department, which houses a specialized collection focused on the United Arab Emirates—comprising works and knowledge resources related to the nation—thereby serving as a vital asset for any initiative dedicated to documenting the local cultural landscape.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured various sections of the Center, beginning with the National Culture Department, where they examined its collection of works and materials concerning the UAE. They also visited the “Journey of Giving” exhibition, which documents the life of the Center’s founder, Juma Al Majid, and his contributions to the advancement of culture and knowledge. The delegation also learned about the services the center provides to researchers through its reference hall. The tour concluded with a visit to the private libraries section, where the delegation members viewed notable personal collections that had been gifted to the center—collections of significant scholarly value that reflect the interests and intellectual journeys of their original owners.
At the end of the visit, the delegation from the Mohammed bin Rashid Library expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome and the center’s readiness to contribute to enriching the “Emirati Library.” They underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among cultural institutions across the nation to support Emirati literature and the researchers who study it.
