Juma Al Majid Center and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi Libraries Sector Strengthen Cooperation and Publication Exchanges

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai received a delegation from the Libraries Sector of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) On Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The delegation included Ms. Siham Abdullah, Head of the Exchange Unit, and Ms. Moza Al Sulaitni, Gifts and Exchange Officer.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Mohamed Kamel Gad, Director General of the Center; Mr. Riad Taher, Head of the Technical Processing Department; and Mr. Anwar Al Dhaheri, Head of the Public Relations Section.
The visit aimed to foster cooperation between the Center and the DCT Abu Dhabi Libraries Sector regarding the exchange of books and publications. It also explored potential collaboration on events and training programs organized by the Center, with a particular focus on specialized courses in the field of library science. During the visit, the delegation presented a collection of their recent publications to the Center, while the Center, in turn, gifted the delegation a selection of its own latest publications.
Dr. Mohamed Kamel Gad welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed the Center’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Department across areas of mutual interest. He also provided an overview of the services the Center offers to researchers—covering both books and manuscripts—as well as its cultural activities for the general public, which include training courses, lectures, and workshops. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the center’s various departments. The tour began with a visit to the “Journey of Giving” exhibition, where they learned about the visits the center’s founder had made to several Arab and international cultural institutions, aimed at fostering cultural cooperation and the exchange of expertise. The delegation also visited the reference hall, where they were introduced to the services provided to library patrons, and explored the collections within the private libraries section. The tour concluded with a visit to the manuscripts department.
At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome they received. They also commended the center for providing a selection of recent publications, a gesture that supports the exchange of printed materials and strengthens cultural and intellectual cooperation between the two sides.
