Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai received a delegation from the Sharjah Institute for Heritage On Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The delegation included Ms. Khalida Shehail, Head of the Archives Department at the Institute, Ms. Maitha Al Suwaidi, and Mr. Fouad Mohammed.
The delegation was received by Ms. Shaikha Al Mutairi, Head of the National Culture, and Public and Media Department, Dr. Taha Mohammed Noor, Scientific Supervisor of Documents and Archives at the Center, and Mr. Anwar Al Dhaheri, Head of the Public Relations Division.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Center and the Institute in the field of electronic document archiving. The delegation also learned about the Al Majid electronic document and image archiving system, its operational mechanisms, and its capabilities for preserving, organizing, and accessing documents and images. Following this, the delegation toured several sections of the center, including the “Journey of Giving” exhibition, where they learned about the pioneering role of Mr. Juma Al Majid in collecting books and manuscripts, and the agreements the center has signed with a number of international cultural institutions and libraries.
The delegation also visited the reference hall, where they learned about the services the center provides to researchers. The tour concluded with a visit to the private libraries section, where the delegation viewed the most prominent private libraries held by the center and their valuable and rare collections.
At the end of the visit, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage delegation expressed their gratitude to the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage for their warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two sides in areas of mutual interest.
