A delegation from the Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies and Cooperation in Rome visits the Juma Al Majid Center

A delegation from the Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies and Cooperation in Rome, headed by Professor Gabriele Andreoli, President of the Institute, and Ms. Arta Vita, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Institute, visited the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
The visit aimed to get acquainted with the Juma Al Majid Center and the role it plays in serving culture and world heritage, in addition to discussing areas of common cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation was received by Dr. Mohamed Kamel Gad, Director General of the Centre, who welcomed the guests and explained to them the nature of the Centre’s work and the efforts made by His Excellency Juma Al Majid, President of the Centre, in preserving world heritage through its cooperation with many centers and institutions around the world.
Then Mr. Anwar Al Dhaheri, Head of the Public Relations Division at the Centre, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Centre’s departments, during which they visited the Giving Journey exhibition, the reading hall, the library cataloging and warehouse management department, and the digital laboratory, where they learned about the processes of converting paper containers to digital, and the heritage treasury. Among the departments that the delegation was interested in visiting was the Preservation, Treatment and Restoration Department, where the delegation listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Bassam Daghestani, head of the department, about the methods of preservation, maintenance and restoration that the center follows in preserving books, manuscripts and documents.
At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Andreoli thanked the Center’s management for the warm reception. He also expressed his readiness for future cooperation between the Institute and the Juma Al Majid Centre, recognizing the potential for mutual benefit and the advancement of common goals in the field of scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge on a global scale.
