Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai welcomed a Chinese delegation from governmental cultural institutions in the People’s Republic of China. The delegation included Mr. Ren Wei, General Director of the Cultural Heritage Administration of Henan Province; Mr. Zhang Dishui, Vice President of Henan Museum; Mr. Ling Fuwei, Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology; Mr. Xu Shaolong, Head of the Henan Provincial Institute for Architectural Heritage Preservation and Research; and Mr. Gao Xizheng, Deputy Director of the Cultural Relics Technology and International Cooperation Department under the Henan Cultural Heritage Administration.
The visit aimed to explore the center’s efforts in heritage preservation, exchange cultural information and projects, and discuss potential collaboration opportunities between both parties.
The visit began in the Special Libraries Section, where the delegation reviewed prominent private library collections housed at the center, including a selection of Chinese books that reflect the traditions and cultural heritage of the Chinese people. They then toured the Manuscripts Section, where they viewed original manuscripts dating back centuries.
During the visit, the delegation praised the efforts of the center’s founder, His Excellency Juma Al Majid, in collecting and preserving manuscripts and books. They also held discussions with Dr. Mohamed Kamal Jadd, the center’s General Manager, on potential areas of collaboration in shared fields of interest.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation presented the center with a selection of commemorative gifts that showcase Chinese heritage.
