Course on Crisis Analysis and Decision Making

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, in collaboration with the London Center for Cultural Exchange, conducted a training course titled “Crisis Analysis and Decision Making.” The course was delivered by Dr. Hala Al-Minyawi, an academic consultant at the London Cultural College, and was attended by 40 participants interested in this field.
This course is part of the summer cultural program launched by the center last July. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of risk and crisis analysis that individuals and institutions may face, and to equip participants with the necessary skills to develop proactive and comprehensive plans to handle crises.
The main topics covered in the course included introducing participants to potential types and classifications of crises, reviewing methodologies and tools for crisis analysis such as scenario analysis and SWOT analysis. The course also addressed how to make strategic decisions based on a comprehensive analysis of situations, considering the short- and long-term implications of these decisions. Additionally, the course focused on developing strategies to ensure the continuity of essential operations for institutions during and after crises. Best practices in public relations management and effective communication with media and the public were also reviewed to ensure the dissemination of accurate information and to curb the spread of rumors.
The course concluded with significant interaction from the participants, who exchanged ideas and opinions. The discussions resulted in a set of important recommendations that would enhance the ability of institutions and individuals to respond to crises more effectively.
