Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai hosted a virtual discussion session on its latest publication, “Tuhfat Al-Arib wa Nuzhat Al-Labib” by Abu Madyan Al-Fassi (d. 1181 AH). The event featured the book’s editor, Professor Dr. Laabidi Bouabdallah from Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, and was attended by researchers, students, and heritage enthusiasts from within the UAE and abroad.
During the session, Dr. Laabidi highlighted the motivations behind editing the book, which is considered a significant literary heritage source. The book contains hundreds of wisdoms, stories, sayings, and anecdotes, systematically compiled by the author in a dictionary format. The session also included an introduction to the book’s author, its themes, scientific value, and the methodology applied during its editing process.
The book, “Tuhfat Al-Arib wa Nuzhat Al-Labib,” marks the 155th publication by the center. Since its establishment, the center has published numerous specialized works across various fields, including history, literature, language, and other scientific disciplines of interest to researchers.
