The Emirates Libraries and Information Association, in collaboration with the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, organized a workshop titled “Building Strategic Partnerships for Library Management.” The workshop was led by Ms. Iman Boushleibi, Director of the Sharjah Public Libraries Department, and was held at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage.
The workshop aimed to emphasize the importance of strategic partnerships between cultural institutions and libraries in the UAE to develop knowledge systems and library services in line with technological advancements and the challenges libraries face in the digital age. During the session, Ms. Boushleibi addressed key topics on modern library management and how strategic partnerships can contribute to the sustainability of libraries and the enhancement of services provided to the public.
The workshop was attended by several library and information specialists from various emirates of the UAE, as well as representatives from cultural and library institutions. The event included interactive panel sessions that discussed best practices for library development and ways to enhance collaborative efforts between institutions to achieve common goals, especially in the fields of digitization and heritage preservation.
Fahd Al Mamari, Chairman of the Emirates Libraries and Information Association, expressed his pleasure in collaborating with the Juma Al Majid Center to organize this workshop. He said: “At the Emirates Libraries and Information Association, we believe in the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships between libraries and cultural institutions nationwide. This workshop is part of our efforts to develop the library sector and raise awareness of the importance of joint cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by modern developments.”
He added: “We look forward to more future events that contribute to enhancing the institutional capacities of libraries and developing services to meet the needs of the knowledge community.”
At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Mohamed Kamel Jad, Director-General of the center, presented Ms. Iman Boushleibi with a certificate of appreciation for her outstanding presentation of the workshop.
