Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage participated in the celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, through a symposium organized by the Arab Heritage Center of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage under the slogan “Your Window to the World”, coinciding with the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage 2021, which falls on October 27 every year.
The center was represented in the symposium by Dr. Taha Muhammad Nour, the scientific supervisor of documents and archives at the center, where he spoke about the electronic management of documentary heritage (archives) from a theoretical and applied perspective, and explained in the theoretical part the concept of documentary heritage and its importance, and the concept of electronic management of archives and its elements, with clarification of standards. The international standards adopted, the hardware and software needed in the electronic management of the final archive, and alerted to the terminological, human and legislative requirements associated with the electronic management of documentary heritage.
