The Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage concluded its participation in the “Tayseer Literary Forum,” organized by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and hosted at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library over two days, from November 26 to 27, 2024.
This year, the forum focused on topics related to literature, poetry, and the humanities, in addition to contemporary culture and its role in societal development, with an emphasis on showcasing local literary production.
The center’s participation featured a display of historical photographs of the pioneering figures in the UAE, who played a significant role in the cultural and educational renaissance of the country. In addition, Ms. Shaikha Al-Mutairi, Head of the National Culture and Media Departments at the center, participated in a seminar titled “The Magic of Mystery: Puzzles and Secrets in the Realms of Literature and Poetry.” In this session, she discussed prominent works related to literary puzzles and presented some of the Juma Al Majid Center’s library holdings in this field.
On the sidelines of the forum, the center organized an exhibition on manuscript restoration, showcasing examples of manuscript papers that had been damaged by biological and natural factors.
The forum also included several panel discussions, specialized seminars, and interactive workshops with the participation of a selection of prominent intellectuals, creatives, and writers from the UAE and residents of the country.
