Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, in cooperation with Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized a virtual lecture entitled “Epidemics and Confronting them through Ibn Sina’s Book of Medicine”, presented by Dr. Ghada Abdullah Al-Qablan, Professor, Department of History and Civilization, College of Social Sciences, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Riyadh.
The lecture aimed to shed light on the contributions of ancient Arab and Muslim doctors in facing epidemics through their medical literature.
The lecture dealt with several topics, the most prominent of which are: Ibn Sina and his effects and his book on law, types of common epidemics, fear and anticipation of an epidemic, and confronting epidemics and their remedies through law.
