Juma Al Majid Center Organizes Specialized Workshop on “Modern Media Editing Techniques”

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, organized a specialized training workshop titled “Modern Media Editing Techniques” on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The workshop was conducted by journalist Rafat Abu Assaf and was attended by 28 trainees from various media fields in the country.
The workshop aimed to enhance the skills, capabilities, and potentials of the participants, providing them with methodological scientific knowledge related to modern journalistic editing sciences and the art of writing engaging content that meets the needs of society and keeps pace with the times.
The workshop focused on several key areas, including defining modern media, examining the changes that have affected its content and functions, principles and characteristics of concise and intensive journalistic writing that ensures high readership and viewership across digital platforms, principles of modern media editing and its artistic pillars, types and techniques of new media such as expanded and traditional news, short news, storytelling, reporting, dialogue, investigation, analysis, and opinion pieces. Additionally, it covered emerging arts and techniques such as blogging, quick news updates, images and videos accompanied by commentary, infographics, and podcasts.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Mohammed Kamel Jad, the Director-General of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, honored journalist Rafat Abu Assaf and presented participation certificates to the attendees.
