Juma Al Majid Center participates in international council on archives congress

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai participated in the International Council on Archives Conference: Abu Dhabi 2023, which was held from October 9 to 13 under the slogan “Enriching Knowledge Societies,” organized by the Archives and the National Library at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, with international participation and attendance. A large group of leaders, thought leaders, experts and specialists in the archive sector from various countries of the world.
The conference aimed to review the experiences and expertise of a group of institutions and local entities concerned with the field of archives, in addition to highlighting the importance of communication and cooperation in the field of archiving and documentation at the national and global levels.
The Center’s participation was represented in a working paper entitled “Towards Developing a Standard Model for the Governance of Document and Archive Management Systems,” presented by Dr. Taha Muhammad Nour Abu Al-Khair, Scientific Supervisor of Documents and Archives at the Center. In his paper, he addressed the concept of governance and its importance in getting out of the narrow scope of the concept of developing… Document and archive management mechanisms link the development of work mechanisms with the determinants and requirements of technological transformations and developments. It also presented the steps for governance of any document and archive management system, set basic questions before starting to build the governance model, and proposed a set of basic elements as components of the governance model, especially the governance of the software used.
