Juma Al Majid Center Participates in Manuscript Exhibition at Umm Al Quwain Creative Center

Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Maalla, the head of the Finance Department in Umm Al Quwain, inaugurated the Manuscript Exhibition organized by the Umm Al Quwain Creative Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Youth, in collaboration with the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai and the Sharjah Holy Quran academy. The event took place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and was attended by members of the Federal National Council in the emirate, as well as Abdullah Bou Asayebah, the director of the Umm Al Quwain Creative Center, and officials and representatives from governmental institutions in Umm Al Quwain.
The exhibition is part of the Ministry of Culture’s objectives during the Reading Month, aiming to enrich and support the cultural and intellectual environment in the country by highlighting the cultural, intellectual, and cognitive achievements of the nation.
The center’s participation included some original manuscripts alongside twenty panels of illustrated manuscripts in genealogy, medicine, Arabic language, preaching, and astronomy, in addition to handwritten copies of the Quran.
Furthermore, the center exhibited samples of damaged manuscripts and demonstrated the main methods used in their restoration, along with examples of raw materials used in manuscript paper manufacturing.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Maalla commended the efforts of cultural institutions in the country in promoting cultural activity, preserving human heritage, and safeguarding the diverse cultural and civilizational legacy throughout history.
At the conclusion of the exhibition, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Maalla honored the center for its significant efforts in heritage preservation, and Mr. Anwar Al daheri, Head of the Public Relations Department, accepted the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the center.
