Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage participated in the events organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library to celebrate “Emirati Writers’ Day.” The event featured a distinguished group of Emirati writers, literary figures, researchers, and creative individuals, and was held in collaboration with a number of cultural and national institutions in the UAE. This participation reflects the Center’s ongoing commitment to supporting Emirati writers and enhancing their role in enriching the cultural and intellectual landscape.
The Center’s participation included an exhibition on manuscript restoration, showcasing examples of original manuscript pages damaged due to poor preservation, as well as the tools used in restoring books, documents, and manuscripts.
The Center’s pavilion attracted a large number of visitors and those interested in documentary heritage. Visitors learned about the stages of manuscript restoration and the scientific methods used in their preservation and maintenance, in addition to discovering the Center’s efforts in preserving written human heritage and serving researchers and scholars. The Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage is keen to participate in local and international cultural and knowledge events, based on its mission to spread knowledge, preserve manuscript heritage, and promote awareness of the importance of preserving historical documents and sources for future generations.
