Juma Al Majid Center Participates in the Second Documentation Forum

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai participated in the Second Documentation Forum, organized by the Organizational Records Department of Al Dhaid Municipality on Thursday, May 29, 2025, under the theme “Documents for All.” The event, held at Expo Al Dhaid in Sharjah, was supported by the Municipal Council and the Municipality of Al Dhaid City, with participation from 23 public and private entities from across the UAE.
The forum was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Al Dhaid City, and H.E. Hamad Rashid Al-Tunaiji, Director of Al Dhaid Municipality. The event aimed to highlight the importance of documentation in preserving national memory and to raise awareness of its role in supporting institutional development.
The center’s participation featured an exhibition of rare manuscripts, including a copy of “Al-Mukhtar Lil-Fatwa” by Abu Al-Fadl Al-Mawsili, and a copy of “Takhmees Al-Wasā’il Al-Mutaqabbala fi Madḥ Al-Nabiyy ﷺ” by Abu Bakr Al-Lakhmi (d. 645 AH). Also on display was a manuscript of “Al-Fawā’id Al-Diyā’iyya: Sharḥ Al-Kāfiya” by Al-Jāmī (d. 898 AH), dated to the month of Safar 1085 AH, along with a copy of “Sharḥ Mā fi Ṣadr Al-Maqāmāt min Al-Maʿānī wa Al-Lughāt” by Ibn Ḥammāmah Al-Sijlmāsī (6th century AH), copied in the 10th century AH.
The exhibition also featured samples of damaged original manuscript leaves, showcasing the effects of poor preservation, in addition to tools and materials used in the restoration of books, documents, and manuscripts.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Huwaiden honored the Juma Al Majid Center in recognition of its valuable contribution to the success of the forum. The certificate of appreciation was received on behalf of the Center by Ms. Shaikha Abdullah Al Mutairi, Head of the National Culture and Public Relations & Media Departments.
