Juma Al Majid Center presents a lecture on the authentication of Arabic and Islamic heritage books

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, in collaboration with the Emirates Library and Information Association, held a remote lecture on Thursday, January 11, 2024, titled “Authenticating Arabic and Islamic Heritage Books by Compiling Texts from Lost Manuscripts Within Printed Books.” The lecture was delivered by Mr. Fahd Ali Al Maamari, Chairman of the Emirates Library and Information Association and a researcher in folk heritage.
The lecture aimed to shed light on the collection of texts from lost manuscripts through the pages of books, indexes, and the author’s own books, which sometimes contain excerpts from his lost manuscripts. Consequently, tracing these texts allows researchers and scholars to reconstruct a new book from one that was considered lost or missing, thereby enriching the Arabic library.
