Juma El Majid is honored at the international manuscripts conference in Tunis

As part of the activities of the fourth International Conference of manuscripts of the seventh century Hijri, which was held this year at the University of Zaytuna in the Republic of Tunisia, from November 14 to 16, the House of manuscripts of the Sultan Ahmed endowment in Istanbul, the organizer of the conference, jointly with the College of Da’wa in Libya, the Society of the well-established in science in Kuwait, and the Tunisian University of Zaytuna honored H. E. Juma Al Majid, president of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and heritage in Dubai. The honor was received on behalf of His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Dr. Mohammed Kamel Gad, director general of the center.
This honor comes in recognition of the pioneering role played by Juma Al Majid in the preservation of world heritage, through his establishment of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and heritage in Dubai, which has worked on the rescue, restoration and digitization of manuscripts and books in various libraries around the world, and also contributed to the establishment of laboratories for the restoration and photography of books and manuscripts in several countries.
In a video-recorded speech, Juma Al-Majid thanked the Sultanahmet endowment manuscript house in Istanbul and the participants in the honoring, and said: “I thank you for honoring me in this important scientific forum, and for your interest in reviving the great heritage of our nation. The quarter-century of heritage conservation that we have done has not been a luxury, but a responsibility that we felt. This work has had an impact on heritage conservation in many places around the world.
Also, on the sidelines of the conference, a cooperation agreement was signed between Juma Al Majid Center and the Sultan Ahmed Waqf manuscript house in Istanbul in the field of manuscript heritage .the center was represented in signing the agreement by Dr. Mohammed Kamel Gad, director general of the center, while the second party was represented by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud al Masri, director of the Sultan Ahmed Waqf manuscript house in Istanbul.
