The Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai held a virtual lecture on Monday, March 9, 2026, titled “Scientific Achievements in Qur’anic Studies During Ramadan.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Anis, a scientific expert at the Holy Qur’an Academy in Sharjah.
In his lecture, Dr. Al-Anis discussed the status of knowledge in Islam, the close relationship between knowledge and action, and the importance of spreading knowledge among people. He explained that the month of Ramadan is a time of blessings, goodness, and reward, and it is also a period marked by significant religious, worldly, and scholarly achievements. Among these are the notable contributions made by many scholars in various fields of knowledge and literature.
He particularly focused on scholarly achievements in the field of Qur’anic exegesis and Qur’anic sciences from the 8th century AH to the present day. Among the most prominent works he mentioned were the renowned book “Al-Durr Al-Manthur fi Al-Tafsir Al-Ma’thur” by Imam Al-Suyuti and “Al-Taysir fi ‘Ilm Al-Tafsir” by the scholar Al-Kafiji.
Dr. Al-Anis noted that recalling such illuminating examples of scholars’ efforts during the month of Ramadan can inspire determination and motivate individuals to make the most of the blessed month by completing a scholarly or literary work, thus contributing a valuable addition to the Islamic intellectual heritage.
The lecture concluded with an open discussion session, during which participants actively engaged with the topic by raising several questions and inquiries. Dr. Al-Anis responded to these questions and emphasized the importance of continuing scholarly research in the fields of the Holy Qur’an and its sciences.
