As part of its Summer Cultural Program, the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai organized a workshop entitled “Smart Event Management: Digital Transformation Strategies and Innovation in Event Organization” on Thursday, 23 July 2026. The workshop was presented by Dr. Hanna Mousa Al Jarr, Consultant and Partner at Meric Training and Consultancy, and was attended by 48 participants from various government and private sector organizations across the United Arab Emirates.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of smart events and to explore the latest digital technologies used in organizing conferences, exhibitions, and other events. It focused on innovation, artificial intelligence, data analytics, enhancing the participant experience, and promoting digital sustainability.
The program was structured around three main themes. The first provided an introduction to smart event management and digital transformation, highlighting the differences between traditional and smart events, the stages of digital transformation in event management, emerging global trends in the conferences and exhibitions industry, and the characteristics of successful smart events.
The second theme focused on digital technologies and artificial intelligence in event management. Participants were introduced to event management systems, AI applications, and the latest technologies that support the planning, management, and delivery of modern events.
The third theme, entitled “Designing a Smart Event and Measuring Its Success,” addressed strategies for enhancing the participant experience, the principles of digital sustainability, key performance indicators (KPIs), return on investment (ROI), and the development of a digital transformation roadmap for event management.
