The “Raawi” program on Dubai TV showcases the journey of Juma Al Majid.

In its fourteenth season, the “Raawi” program, aired daily on Dubai Channel One during the blessed month of Ramadan, hosted His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai. He is considered one of the influential public figures in the country, the Arab region, and the world.
Emirati writer and historian Jamal bin Huwairb engaged in various topics with Juma Al Majid, starting from his childhood and education, to the history of diving in the Emirates in the past, his role in establishing schools in the country, and his success in business, through which he founded the Juma Al Majid Holding Group today. Bin Huwairb also discussed Al Majid’s charitable work, including the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, and its pioneering role in serving researchers and scholars, in addition to his efforts in preserving human heritage.
Among the speakers hosted by the program who witnessed Juma Al Majid’s charitable journey was Dr. Mohamed Kamil Jad, Director General of the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai. He spoke about Al Majid’s efforts in saving books around the world and supporting many global cultural institutions in need of preserving their manuscripts, especially those countries that have experienced crises due to wars and disasters.
Then, Dr. Bassam Daghestani, Head of the Conservation, Processing, and Restoration Department at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, talked about the achievements of the center’s restoration laboratory, which included the restoration, binding, and processing of many manuscripts, prints, and documents both within and outside the country. Dr. Daghestani mentioned that the center has established 52 restoration units in 43 countries.
Following that, Sheikha Al Mutairi, Head of the National Culture, Public Relations, and Media Departments at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, discussed the private libraries that have been transferred to the center’s library. She stated that they contain distinguished collections of rare books donated by leading Arab intellectuals, which are preserved in the center under their names, totaling 143 private libraries.
In conclusion, His Excellency Juma Al Majid affirmed that the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage will remain a resource for future generations to benefit from in their research and studies.
