The tenth International Manuscripts Restoration Workshop begins

The tenth International Manuscripts Restoration Workshop begins More than 12 people from the Arab world and local institutions are learning how to care for historic manuscripts at a series of seminars. The third International Manuscripts Restoration Workshop started last week at the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage and continues until March 7. Dr Bassam Daghestani, head of manuscripts maintenance at the centre is supervising the workshop alongside a number of specialised local and Arab trainers. The participants will eventually become skilled in manual restoration, chemical treatment, mechanical restoration and Arabic Islamic binding. Participants represent different Arabic and local universities and institutions coming from Lebanon, Palestine and the UAE.
