With the participation of thirty-six trainees from various government and private institutions across the country, Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai conducted a workshop titled “Choosing a Creative University Major: Techniques and Skills” on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The workshop was led by Dr. Ahmed Hussein Al-Halabi, a human resources training expert.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with tools to select a university major creatively, aligning with their interests and abilities. It covered the most important global criteria for choosing a suitable university major, including opportunity, interest, and capability. The workshop also addressed different types of intelligence that students may possess and how these types can help them choose the right major. There are eight types of intelligence, such as linguistic, mathematical, social, biological, and musical intelligence. Each type of intelligence is suited to specific majors; for example, social intelligence is well-suited to fields like medicine and public relations, while mathematical intelligence is ideal for areas like artificial intelligence technologies and software development.
The workshop witnessed active participation, with numerous questions and inquiries from attendees, many of whom are on the verge of entering university education.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Mohammed Kamel Jad, Director General of the Center, praised Dr. Al-Halabi and presented him with a certificate of appreciation. The remaining participants also received certificates for their participation in the workshop.
